Types of Therapeutic Bodywork

** Indicates the types of bodywork that I practice most frequently.

  • Acupressure: Similar to acupuncture, but using pressure instead of needles. I practice acupressure when using Neuromuscular Therapy and Neuroenergetic Release® techniques.

  • Cranio-Sacral: A gentle technique focusing on cranial alignment and restoring the flow of cranio-sacrial fluid. Can correct sensory, motor or intellectual dysfunction.

  • **Myofascial Release: A whole body, hands-on approach for evaluation and treatment by relaxing connective tissue.

  • **Neuroenergetic Release®: A bodywork method that gently facilitates the body’s natural self-correcting response rather than forcing change. Clients feel less tension and have greater energy and ease of movement. In most cases, the structural change, reduction of symptoms and pain relief are substantial and long-lasting.  Neuroenergetic Release® is used to quickly and effectively speed healing from: auto injuries, neck pain, whiplash, back pain, poor posture, scoliosis, arm pain, carpal tunnel, fractures, herniated discs, TMJ and jaw problems. Athletes find NER heals injuries and boosts performance and energy.

  • **Neuromuscular Therapy: A system of therapy treatments designed to correct specific pain patterns using trigger point therapy, compression and massage. NMT also creates structural change and facilitates pain relief.

  • Shiatsu: Shiatsu literally means finger pressure. Natural body weight is used when pressure is applied on special points on the body. Through this pressure the energy flowing in the meridians is influenced. This energy is called chi.

  • **Sports Massage: Popular among both professional athletes and fitness enthusiasts, this technique focuses on the use of massage to assist training, prevent injury and aid healing in case of soreness or injury. It generally integrates neuromuscular therapy with pre- and post-event massages, as well as in the treatment of sports injuries such as sprains, strains and tendonitis.

  • Swedish Massage: Long, soothing strokes that facilitate relaxation and improve circulation.
